Every home is unique, and every problem requires its own unique solution. Here are some of the techniques we employ to prevent wet basements:

The solution might be as simple as fixing some gutters and downspouts. It might be necessary to move some trees or shrubbery away from your walls, or regrade the land so that water flows away from your home rather than toward the walls. If water problems are more persistent, we usually must dig next to your home exposing the wall(s) where the symptoms are most obvious. We then install:
- Waterproofing cement to seal the wall
- Rubber vapor barrier on the wall
- Fiberglass liner in the trench
- Perforated 4” plastic (ADS) pipe in a bed of stone pitched away from your house to run into your yard.

Persistent interior water seepage can be solved with a dual pressure-relief system. This normally involves the following steps:
- Remove 8-12” of perimeter concrete on basement floor, 12” deep
- Drill pressure relief holes into all bottom blocks or subfloor walls
- Install mud filter membrane at base of trench
- Install perforated plastic (ADS) drain pipe embedded in stone and routed to the sump basin
- Apply acid neutralizer and install a wall drain at base of wall and a plastic vapor barrier
- Install or refurbish sump basin an high-volume sump pump if needed
- Repour perimeter concrete with special additives
